The sky changed it's colour.

Big drops of water fell down

on the red concrete streets

of Tahrir.

Down on the abandoned street vendors

and the silent riverboats.

On the empty mosques and taxi-lines.

 

The Sphinx bowed his head

but he did not blink

away the water caught in his eyes.

He had seen it all

before

 

And the big trees 

in the dusty back-alleys of Cairo

stretched out their branches

absorbing the life-giving water.

And they knew;

One is Us.

 

And so it begins. Again.
